Higashiginza Wind Chime Event 2025

July 18 (Friday) to August 19 (Tuesday), 2025

Nanbu teki wind chimes and Edo wind chimes using strips of "Sensha bills" in 37 towns in Chuo-ku are hung throughout the area, and the whole town is colored!
From July 18th (Fri) to August 7th (Thu), "Sendai Tanabata Decoration Exhibition Event" will be held at the same time! Sendai Tanabata is coming to Higashiginza.

Higashiginza Area Wind Chime Event 2025

In Japan, there has been a custom of decorating a bell-shaped bronze bell, Futaku, to avoid plagues and to perform amulet. Based on this custom, about 500 wind chimes are hung in the surrounding area (approximately 90 locations including Kabukiza Theater, Ginza Shochiku Square, Tsukiji Honganji, etc.) around the Ginza-Tsukiji area using the "Nanbu Tekki Wind Chime" popular in Iwate Prefecture. In the design of the strip, the town of 37 towns in Chuo-ku, which makes you feel the history of Chuo-ku, and the design of "Senshafuda" with pictures related to each area are drawn, coloring the whole town!

In addition to "Nanbu Tekki Wind Chimes", "Ginza Shochiku Square 1F Plaza" has been produced using a manufacturing method that has been passed down for more than 300 years, and uses "Edo Wind Chimes", a traditional craft of Tokyo, to create a cool space. You can also enjoy the difference between the sound of the two types of wind chimes.

Sendai Tanabata Decoration Exhibition Event

Collaboration with "Sendai Tanabata"! In Ginza Shochiku Square, a giant "blew sink" with a total length of about 6 meters and a strip with the wishes of children in Chuo-ku will be displayed, and a "sasa decoration" featuring the seven decorations of Sendai Tanabata will be connected.
Sendai Tanabata is traditional event, which has been around since the time of Masamune Date, and is one of Tohoku's leading summer festivals with about 2 million visitors each year as the largest Tanabata Festival in Japan.
There is also a strip where visitors can write about wish!

In the summer when intense heat is expected, you can enjoy a cool and healing moment with the cool sound of the wind chimes spreading in the Higashiginza area.
