The development of Chuo-ku begins with the birth of Edo shogunate.
Commerce flourished mainly in Nihonbashi, and Edo culture, represented by Kabuki, flourished.
In the Meiji era, Chuo-ku was always at the forefront of the era in terms of economic, cultural and information, such as becoming a window for Western culture.
Although it is such a central city, we collected various faces of Chuo-ku, which retains the atmosphere as a living area for people, in each area.
This photo gallery introduces historical sites and famous places in Chuo-ku, dating back from the past to the present, through photos of winning works of the Tourism Photo Contest. Please enjoy the scenery of Chuo-ku where things that change and things that do not change intersect.
