TOKYO BIENNALE 2025
International Art Festival in Tokyo

October 17 (Fri) to December 14 (Sun), 2025

The Tokyo Biennale is an international art festival once every two years in which diverse artists and creators from Japan and abroad gather in the city of Tokyo, deeply into the city, and create it together with local people.

This time, the third time, under the theme of "Would you like to take a walk together?"

[Info of Chuo-ku (excerpt from the official website)] (As of July 31, 2025)

 Yaesu / Kyobashi area
Tokyo Station, where a variety of people come and go as a gateway to Tokyo. At the Yaesu Exit / North Exit of the station (in front of the entrance to the Daimaru Tokyo store), dynamic and elaborate paintings by Shun Yonaha will appear. In Kyobashi, which is known as a business district, but also has a face as an antique and art district, sound artist Akio Suzuki will conduct a representative project "Otodate" near the Artizon Museum*. We select points that open your senses by listening outdoors, such as "Nodate" in the tea ceremony.

*Akio Suzuki's "Otodate" will be developed in other areas as well.

 Nihonbashi / Bakurocho area
Nihonbashi is a city of commerce and culture that developed as the home of Edo shogunate. It is characterized by a colorful landscape where long-established stores and new facilities that retain the old-fashioned atmosphere are mixed. At the Tokyo Biennale 2025, a "Skima Project" will be held to walk around this town and follow scattered art. Encountering nine artists with works that mimic the potted plants of alleys will rediscover the margins of the city and potential creativity.
Bakurocho is an area where the activities of the historic wholesale district and new movements in the art and design fields coexist. At the Tokyo Biennale, the long-established wholesaler Etoile Kaito Living Hall will be used as a base exhibition venue to display art works and project information.
