Tsukuda Island Bon Preservation Society

Tsukuda Island Bon Festival is a folk performing art designated as Intangible Folk Cultural Property by the Tokyo Metropolitan Board of Education on January 16, 1976.

As the few good things of the old days disappear naturally, we hope that we will pass on this venerable Bon Odori left by our ancestors to future generations in order to preserve and pass on it forever.

The singer on the turret sang a dance song with the beat of large Wadaiko, and the dancer in a circle danced clockwise around the turret.

The dance song is a "oral style" in which the lyrics of 77-tone are repeated with the same melody, and the monotonous and gentle melody is rich in the atmosphere of Bon Odori songs.

The songs include various songs, such as "Autumn Seven Herbs", "Buddha memorial service", "Itoya's daughter", and "Village exhaustion".
