From Bridgestone Museum to Artizon Museum
The Bridgestone Museum of Art, Ishibashi Foundation, opened on January 18, 2020 under the name of the Artizon Museum. "ARTIZON" (artison) is a coined word that combines "ART" (art) and "HORIZON" (holizon: horizon), with the intention of wanting many people to feel the horizon of art that opens up the times. Has been done. The concept of the new museum is "experience of creation." He broadens his horizons to ancient art, modern Japanese Western painting, Impressionism, 20th century art, and contemporary art. The Artizon Museum is located in the lower floor of Museum Tower Kyobashi, a 23-story high-rise building, and gallery space is expanded to three floors on the 4th and 6th floors, about twice as large as the former Bridgestone Museum of Art.
