From Bridgestone Museum of Art to Artizon Museum
The Bridgestone Museum of Art, Ishibashi Foundation, opened on January 18, 2020 as a new museum under the name of the new Artizon Museum. "ARTIZON" is a coined word that combines "ART" (art) and "HORIZON" (horaison: horizon), with the intention of wanting many people to feel the horizon of art that opens up the times. The concept of the new museum is "a sense of creation". He broadens his horizons to ancient art, modern Japanese Western painting, Impressionism, 20th century art, and contemporary art. The Artizon Museum is located in the lower part of the 23-story high-rise building "Museum Tower Kyobashi", and gallery space is expanded to three floors on the 4th to 6th floors and about twice the area of the former Bridgestone Museum of Art, providing a variety of artistic pleasures with the latest lighting and air conditioning.
