Let's go around the "Sumida River 8 Bridges"
Chuo-ku is a city with many waterfronts, including the Sumida River, a first-class river in the Arakawa water system, even though it is the city center. There are bridges over the river, and each bridge has various stories.
Kiyosu Bridge, one of the eight bridges of the Sumida River in Chuo-ku, is a rare self-built suspension bridge in the world. It was built as one of the reconstruction projects following the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1928. At that time, Nishizume was Nakashu, Nihonbashi-ku, Higashizume was named Kiyozumicho, Fukagawa-ku, and the name of each town. "Chuo-ohashi Bridge" is a bridge built in 1993 and was born through the redevelopment of Tsukuda Island. On the upper reaches of the center, there is a sculptor Osssenger statue, a sculptor, presented by the city of Paris to commemorate the friendship between the Sumida River in Tokyo and the Seine in Paris.
