Bank of Japan Main Building
Architecture designated as one of the 50 Best Building Heritage Sites in Tokyo
Completed in 1896, it has been designated as a national important cultural property as a valuable Western-style building of the Meiji period. It is said that architect Kingo Tatsuno designed the model of the Belgian National Bank. The structure is made of masonry brick, three floors above ground and one floor below ground, and is characterized by a solid design surrounded by buildings.
