The symbol of Edo Nihonbashi

Nihonbashi is a symbol of Edo that was built by Ieyasu Tokugawa in 1603 and has since been popular as Edo Nihonbashi. The current Renaissance Ishibashi was erected in 1911, and the balustrade watches the busy people of Kirin and lions. In 1999, it was designated as a national important cultural property for the first time as a road bridge. In the center of Hashigami, a copper plate of the "Japan Road Mark" is buried, indicating the starting point of the national highway.
