Sohonzan Kabukiza Theater of Nashien

Kabukiza was founded in 1889 by Genichiro Fukuchi, president of the Tokyo Nichinichi Shimbun (now the Mainichi Shimbun), who was instrumental in writing plays and developing theater culture. The current theater, which opened in April 2013, is a complex consisting of theaters and office towers equipped with state-of-the-art facilities while inheriting the exterior and interior of the fourth Kabukiza, which has been popular for many years. As the Kabuki Hall of Fame, a traditional Japanese performing arts composed of music (singing), dance (mai), and theater (gi), many famous actors still compete here today.
