Bettara City (Selected in Hakkei, Chuo-ku, 1982)
traditional event, which has continued since the Edo period
Bettara City, located in the neighborhood of Nihonbashikodenmacho as a representative city in Tokyo, is an autumn tradition that has continued since the Keicho era. It is said that the name "Bettara City" was given because the radish pickles pickled in koji were sold under the shout "Bettara, Bettara".
For two days, October 19 and 20, every year, tents selling Betara pickles are lined up in the area from Takarada Ebisu Shrine to Sugimori Shrine.
