Eitai Bridge (Important Cultural Property)
Eitai Bridge, which became the stage of many creations
The Eitai Bridge in the Edo period was built about 150m upstream from its current location, boasting the longest length in Edo, known as a famous spot for views, cool coolness, and as a place for departure and arrival in various countries. It has also appeared in many creative stages such as Ukiyo-e and Classical Rakugo.
After several damages and constructions, it was erected at its current position in 1897. It was destroyed by the Great Kanto Earthquake, and in 1928 it became the current arch bridge.
The sight of the bridge during the day, where people and cars come and go, is lit up at sunset (until around 20 o'clock throughout the year), and its beautiful shine of transparent blue attracts many people.
