Brick Ginza Monument
Monument to Ginza Brick Street, which was born during the Meiji period
In 1872 (1872), a fire that broke out from Wadakura-mon Gate burned down the entire Ginza area and became a big fire that extended to the Tsukiji Hotel. With this opportunity, Tokyo Governor Kimimasa Yuri at the time insisted on building a non-combustible city, and the birth of Ginza Brick Street. A monument was set up to commemorate the standing of brick buildings, a symbol of Japanese civilization and civilization in the early Meiji era. A gas light has also been restored at the back of the monument.
