A monument to a writer of Meiji who graduated from Yasuaki Elementary School

Yasuaki Elementary School is a school where modern Romantic pioneer Tokoku Kitamura (1868-1894) and naturalist literary writer Toson Shimazaki (1872-1943) studied on a young day. At the entrance of the school, there is a stone monument of "Toson Shimazaki Tokoku Kitamura Learn here on Your Childhood". The school building was made of red brick and became the Historic buildings selected by the capital in 1999.
