In the Edo period, Yotsuya Kano, who monopolized painting as a back painter of the Shogunate, worshiped mansions in Kajibashi, Kibikicho, Nakahashi and Hamacho. Among them, the most prospered was the Kano family in Kibikicho, and Norinobu Kano, the sixth generation, gained the knowledge of Okitsugu Tanuma, opened a painting school near Ginza 5-chome. From the gate of Yashiro Masanobu, masters of the Meiji art world Hogai Kanou and Gaho Hashimoto were produced.
