A place where a popular ukiyo-e artist lived for about 10 years

Ukiyo-e artist Utagawa (Ando) Hiroshige in the late Edo period was famous for his series of poetic landscape prints, and also opened a new frontier for flower and bird paintings. Representative works include "53rd Tokaido" and "100 famous Edo Views". It is said that he spent about 10 years from 1849 (1849) to his death in Ogamachi (now Kyobashi), and an explanatory version has been set up at the site of the house.
