Wells of famous water Shirakiya (currently not available for construction)
spring water (City of Designated Cultural Property) presented to the Shogun family and feudal lords
Tokyu Department Store (closed in January 1994), located at the corner of Nihonbashi intersection, was called Shirakiya until 1958. Shirakiya was founded by Omi merchant Hikotaro Omura. It is a large kimono store that is on the side of Echigoya, and the water of the well excavated by Hikotaro the second generation with private property is filled with Shimizu that is dedicated to the Shogun family and various daimyo, and it is widely sung as `` Shiraki Meisui '' . At present, Shiraki Meisui has disappeared, but there is a monument as a historic site designated by Tokyo. (The tour is not possible because it is currently under construction.)
