The birthplace of postal mail
Memorial place where the modern postal system started
Japan's modern postal system began in 1871 with the invention of Mimitsu Maejima, between Tokyo and Osaka. At the time of the launch of the new system, the Tsuyoshi Ekiji and the Tokyo Post Office (now the Central Post Office), who supervised the postal business, were located, and in 1962, a bust and monument of Maejimamitsu were built.
