Birthplace of Fingerprint Research
Where Falls worked on researching fingerprints
British missionary and physician Henry Falls (1843-1930) discovered that fingerprints can be used for personal recognition, inspired by our country's thumbprint habits and ancient fingerprints. In 1961, half a century after the Japanese police adopted the fingerprint method, a stone monument was erected in honor of his achievements.
