Monument in Designated Cultural Property, capital of Japan

Ryotaku Maeno, a feudal physician and a Dutch scholar, gathered at Nakayashiki with Genpaku Sugita, Junnan Nakagawa, Hoshu Katsuragawa, and others at the Nakayashiki, where he worked on translation of the Dutch medical book "Tarher Anatomia" and published a "Dismantling New Book". The state of the hardship at that time is described in detail in Genpaku Sugita's "Langakujihame". The stone monument was built in 1959 (1959) and is designated as the capital city of Designated Cultural Property.
