Hoitsu Sakai Tomb
Tomb of the founder of Edo Rinpa School (Designated Cultural Property, capital)
Hoitsu Sakai was a painter who was active in the late Edo period, and was born as a child of the Sakai family of Himeji feudal lord in Harima Province (now Hyogo Prefecture), and demonstrated his talent in haikai and paintings. When the Bunjojin of Nishi Honganji Temple went down to Edo, he became a priest, and became a private priest to Kourin Ogata, adding further liquor to his style, and became the founder of the so-called Edo Rinpa. There is a tomb in Tsukiji Honganji.
