The site of Naval Military School
Western style school building attracted attention
The Naval Military Dormitory, which was a training school for naval officers, was born in Tsukiji in 1869 (1869) as a Naval Training Center. The following year, it was renamed Naval Academy in 1999, and moved to Etajima Island, Hiroshima Prefecture in 1999. In 1934, this monument was built to commemorate the old land. The school building, completed in 1871, attracted the attention of people with a Western-style architectural style with ridge tiles on the sea rat wall. Later, it was used as a school building for Naval University, but was burned down in the Great Kanto Earthquake.
