Ruins of Gundai-yashiki

In 1590 (1590), Ieyasu Tokugawa appointed Tadaharu Ina as Gundai (the ruler of the direct control of the land) in the eight Kanto regions, and administered tax collection, litigation, and farming. Since then, Ina has succeeded this position for generations until Kansei 4 (1792). Gundai Yashiki was located north of the former Bakurocho 4-chome.
After the abolition of Kanto-gundai, it was called the Bakurocho Goyoyashiki, and in the first year of the Meiji era, it became a branch office, and changed to Machiya with the abolition of Baba.
