At the Nihonbashi / Kyobashi Festival, many dance groups from all over the country, such as mikoshi and dances from various places, dance around Chuo-dori. This piece is a work performed by Awa Odori performers just in the center of Nihonbashi. All the performances are hard to beat. We hope that the gorgeous festival, which is growing year by year, will continue for decades.

[Jury comment]

After all, the camera position in the center of the bridge is accurate. Against the backdrop of the iconic “Kirin Statue,” the symbol of Nihonbashi, we are good at creating screens that aim for the dancers in kimono from the front, and the light rhythm of Awa Odori seems to be heard from the light gestures, and the excitement is transmitted. The dynamic screen configuration that makes use of the curves of the highway is also lively.

Title: Bon Odori in the city center

[Shooter comment]

I saw a poster of Bon Odori held at Hamacho Park and went there. In the middle of Tokyo, such a grand Bon Odori is amazing. I attached a fisheye lens to the camera, put it on a tripod, lifted it up, and shot it with a bird's-eye view. The dancers' yukata matched the blue sky of Magic Hour and it was a very beautiful scene.

Bon festival dance at Hamacho Park surrounded by buildings. Illuminated by the light of Japanese lantern, surrounding the golden tower, the dancers in yukatas seem to be able to feel the slow and fun flow of the people gathering at dusk. It is wonderful that the technique of shooting from a high place with a camera on a tripod is successful, and the scale of the entire park is well expressed.

On the evening of autumn day, we could see Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji beyond the streets along the Sumida River. I rediscovered a city space with a good view.

[Jury comment]

It's taken from St. Luke's Tower, but did you go there many times? It is a work that was completed with good conditions. By selecting a time zone where the brightness remains slightly in the sky at dusk, and taking advantage of the curve of the Sumida River, the buildings lined up on both banks are created to create a large panorama landscape that clearly emerges even to Tokyo Tower and Mount Fuji in the distance.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation for the memorable 2019 academic year. Pictures of Greek mythology are drawn on the ceiling and floor of the shooting location, and their splendor was expressed with a fisheye lens. The light ray conditions differ depending on the season, weather, and time, so I went there several times and met a wonderful model.

It seems that it was taken at Harumi Triton Square. A large circular ceiling with Western-style paintings and spotlights inserted into the floor. It is a wonderful work that captures the woman illuminated by the lights in a timely manner and makes use of the descriptive characteristics of the ultra-wide-angle lens to create a dynamic screen composition.

This year, I took a picture of the Hakone Ekiden, which had an exciting battle, at Hashigami in Nihonbashi. It was very difficult to put a lot of enthusiastic supporters waving flags and runners running too quickly on the screen, but it was good to be able to somehow capture the hot atmosphere of the roadside .

The day of the annual Hakone Ekiden. The camerawork that was sent to the cheering of the supporters and framing the runners running through Nihonbashi jump out of the screen is outstanding. The enthusiasm of the supporters is also well captured, and it is a work full of realism.
