Spring in Nihonbashimuromachi. On the sidewalk of Chuo-dori, colorful tulips and pansies were blooming beautifully and marched. Mitsui Tower is also enjoying a beautiful march under the bright sunny sky. I had a hard time aiming for the weather, how flowers bloom, and when there were no cars or people.

Comments on Judges

By placing a tulip that is a point in front of the left hand, it is a work with a depth that incorporates perspective well. It is a very wonderful work that captures the blue sky and the shade beautifully and effectively. It was hard to aim for a timing without cars and people on Chuo-dori.

Walking around Tsukishima and looking back at Tsukishima Nishinaka-dori Shopping Street, where famous monjayaki shops are lined up, the scenery of dusk where the lights began to light on the bustling streets and beyond that, the skyscrapers of Kachidoki spread. I photographed the scenery as a memory of a stroll around Tsukishima.

It is an excellent work that cut out the Tsukishima Nishinaka-dori shopping street at dusk with a realistic perspective. The contrast between the skyscrapers floating in the night sky and the lights of the arcade impressed the warmth of the downtown area of the shopping street. The word "San" on both sides is an effective accent.

Title: Edo fire extinguisher

This is a frame at the "Oedo Katsuki Parade" of the "Nihonbashi / Kyobashi Festival". The people of the Edo Fire Memorial Party showed off the techniques of Edo fire extinguishing, such as woodworking and knitting. I was able to think about the culture and traditions of the Edo period.

The fire-fighting people capture exactly the moment they pass through Nihonbashi. The momentum swinging cloth arranged in the center of the work and the dynamic movement of the swinging swing give the work strength.

This bridge has been supporting and connecting the times for 400 years from the Edo period to Reiwa. I am very honored to receive the award in Nihonbashi, where my roots are located. From Nihonbashi to the world, we pray that it will be a bridge that connects love and peace.

I think it is a work that expresses the atmosphere of Nihonbashi very well as a night view. Taking advantage of the lighting of the elevated part of the Metropolitan Expressway, such as the flow of the river, while focusing on the Kirin statue, the work has a realistic perspective contrasting with the shadow of the Nihonbashi railing.

Ginza has an elegant atmosphere, and I like it for a long time and still visit it sometimes. This time it happened to be a pedestrian paradise day on Saturday, so I was surprised by the large number of people and, above all, tourists from various countries. People from all over the world were walking around Ginza, and I felt hope for a bright global world in the future.

Ginza is a pedestrian paradise, but it is a work that conveys the atmosphere where the bustle has returned again after overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic. I often capture Ginza, which is rich in international nature, where many foreigners enjoy and go around the town.
